Hello Spring!
Who doesn’t love April (minus the yucky pollen)? Right now we are having beautiful days here in Texas. They don’t last very long, so I tend to relish in them when they are here. Now that spring is officially here I am all about crafting and searching the internet for new recipes.
Our main must-haves in April are non-candy Easter basket stuffers. I love the idea of cute themed baskets. but Easter usually creeps up on me and I run out of time to pull it together.
Where to buy non-candy items?
Target and The Dollar Tree are a mom’s old faithful when it comes to inexpensive non-candy items. I have filled a many an Easter basket with stuff from these two stores.
I was chatting with another mama recently who invited me to a “Shop and Share”. Essentially, a “shop and share” is where a group of moms go to an educational store, (in this case Lakeshore Learning), and share the materials and cost. Since Lakeshore is made for teachers, many of their items come in packs for a small group of kids. Well, one mom doesn’t need that many of one thing, so a “shop and share” allows the moms to purchase many of these items and divide them between all the moms. I am told $20 bucks is plenty. I thought this was a super awesome idea because you can get some cool educational toys, fill an Easter basket, and save a little money in the process.
